Welcome back to
    Term 2.
This term has started peacefully and with some nice warm weather for us to go outside and enjoy the  fantastic autumn leaves around our school.
Our maths learning for the first 2 weeks is around ordering numbers and knowing what is more or less.  Then later in the term we look at joining numbers together, fractions, and measurement.
In our writing we are talking about and trying to use descriptive language. We are writing about autumn leaves this week and our Mums in week 2.
In guided reading, groups will continue to work on specific goals for decoding strategies and comprehension skills.  We will be learning lots of nursery rhymes this term.  If you have any folk stories or rhymes from another culture please feel free to bring them in to share with us.
For our topic this term we are investigating Hamilton and all the amazing things (both new and historical) about the city we live in. We have a Hamilton Icons trip planned around week 5.
Next week we are off to the Hukanui Marae as a whole school!!   This will be a great eye opener for many of us so we have been learning about Marae buildings and protocol.
PHEW!  Lots of fun and learning to come.
Have a great term everyone
