Making our Muesli Bars.
This week we made Muesli Bars in the Cool Kids Kitchen.  They tasted so yummy that we decided to make them again on friday but add a variety of new ingredients.

We are learning that we dont always have to buy things that are packaged from the supermarket but we can make them ourselves from scratch.

Here is the recipe. Try it a home.
Apricot and coconut muesli slice.
Makes great muesli bars.

Set oven at 160 degrees.
125g butter
2/3 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp honey
1 ½ cups rice bubbles
1 cup rolled oats
½ cup plain flour
½ cup coconut
½ cup chopped apricots
optional – choc chips/seeds/nuts.

Melt together butter, sugar and honey.  Heat (but don’t boil) until the sugar is dissolved.  Sit aside to cool a bit.
Add the remaining ingredients to the butter mixture. Stir and mix together.

Press into a tray and bake for about 1 – 1 ½ hours or until golden.  Cool in pan before cutting.  YUM!!!
