Our Farm Trip. 
This week Room 2 travelled by bus to visit a farm in the Waikato. 
When we got there the farmer took us into a paddock for a treasure hunt.  We saw and learnt about lots of different vehicles and equipment used on the farm. 

Next we went to the milk vats and took a look inside an empty one. 

After that we got to see where the cows are milked and have a turn on the rotary milking platform.  

Next we walked up the race to see the cows and their huge pile of palm maize which they eat in the winter time.  Stomping through the mud (and cow poo) was a highlight for many children!

Lastly we got to visit and pat a new born calf.  It was so soft and fluffy and looking for any fingers to suck!
