Hukanui Marae Trip.
Our whole school went on a trip to the Hukanui Marae.  We learnt the Marae is nearly 160 years old!   For some of us it was our first time to a marae.

We were welcomed in with a Powhiri and lots of singing.  Then we went inside the Wharenui.  This was the meeting house.  It had beautiful Tuku tuku panels inside it and lots of photos of people who had died.

Then we had some morning tea and got to sketch parts of the Marae.
After this it was time for a performance from the Kapa haka and return back to school on the bus just in time for lunch.

Phew, what a fun and amazing morning!!!!!
